Closure for Training: To enable the doctors and staff to keep up to date the practice will be closed for staff training from 12.30pm to 4:00pm on Wednesday 29th November 2017.

Patient Group:
We are looking for additional patients who may be interested in joining the practice patient group. Follow the link "Have your say" for further information.


We work as a core team of doctors, nurses, health care assistants, receptionists, secretaries, and dispensers who are employed by the Caythorpe & Ancaster Practice. We have close links with an extended team of District Nurses, Health Visitors and Macmillan Nurses who are not employed directly by the practice.

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, immunisations, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Debbiw TerryDebbie is our Senior Practice Nurse and manages the entire team of Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants. She qualified as a nurse in 1994. and subsequently as a nurse prescriber in 2005, before gaining further experience in various settings including working in a renal unit and community nursing in Nottingham. She worked as a practice nurse for several years in Newark. Following this she gained expertise in respiratory nursing by leading a community respiratory team, working alongside Respiratory Consultants in Newark, for seven and a half years. Debbie now has over ten years experience of managing patients with asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis and bronchiectasis.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement, ECGs and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
