Equipment Trust Fund

The practice is very fortunate in being able to provide an enhanced range of services to our patients through the generous support of the Caythorpe & Ancaster Medical Equipment Trust. This is a registered charity, regulated by the Charities Commission; Charity No. 1000579. The sole purpose of the Trust is to “relieve sickness within the area served by the Caythorpe and Ancaster practices by the provision of medical equipment on loan or other facilities not normally available by the local NHS and by maintaining repairing and replacing such equipment as may be necessary”

The Caythorpe & Ancaster Medical Equipment Trust Fund is regulated by the Charity Commissioners and is administered, independently of the practice and the medical partnership, by a board of trustees If the practice feels that our patients might benefit from any additional equipment we apply to the charity who then consider any such applications and respond, as the trustees feel appropriate, to them. Our patients greatly benefit from equipment bought by the Caythorpe & Ancaster Medical Equipment Trust Fund. Equipment provided by the charity in recent years includes home blood pressure monitors, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring equipment, diagnostic equipment and anticoagulation monitoring equipment. This equipment helps us to provide better care to our patients and is of very direct benefit to them.

From time to time some of our patients wish to offer their support to the practice in helping us to provide medical care to our local community through donations or legacies. While we very much appreciate such kind gestures, it could be considered unethical for us to directly accept these donations and so any such donations are forwarded directly to the treasurer of the charity.
