As a Practice when it comes to clinical decisions we have always sought to follow the best available scientific advice.
Over the past few months we have done our best to ensure that patients and staff remain as safe as possible by introducing a social distancing policy and physical barriers such as screens at our reception where we cannot control or guarantee that along with surgical masks for clinical staff who have to come into close, sustained contact with patients to protect both patient and clinician.
As a practice we have followed closely the advice on face coverings. We believe that alongside good hand hygiene, social distancing remains the best advice to protect us all but we also realise that this is not always possible. Public health advice has been updated to include the use of face coverings, cloth masks a scarf or even home made from a t-shirt when entering confined public spaces to protect other vulnerable people around you.
Obviously as a practice we do care for some of the most vulnerable and poorly people in our local community. Often this is at their home but sometimes we do need them to come to the surgery for certain treatment and therefore we are going to start asking you to help us protect vulnerable people when you attend the practice. We are encouraging patients to start to wear non-surgical face masks or face coverings when attending the surgery or collecting their prescriptions as soon as they possibly can.
As ever we thank you for your help with this, we will continue to update on Facebook and the Practice website should guidance change.
