System update

As a whole Practice we are committed to and passionate about providing outstanding patient care. This is never easy to achieve but hugely satisfying and without exception we realise that serving and caring for our local population is an honour.

Very occasionally we struggle to ensure everyone who wants to access our services can and we have to prioritise those who need our support.

Over the last week we have been struck with levels of staff sickness that mean we have had to prioritise those patients who need our care.

Our clinicians and the team around them already work incredibly hard and as a Practice we have to ensure that this level of hard work remains safe and sustainable.

To do this we have had to restrict access to askmyGP and we genuinely appreciate the support of patients over this time.

Unfortunately we still have members of the team unable to work due to ill health at present and even as this eases we are working to catch up on the care of those people who have patiently waited.

Our plan is to keep askmyGP off overnight for the next week until the end of October. We will reopen it at 7am each day until we have reached our safe capacity for that day. We expect to return to a usual service the following week.

As ever, if askmyGP is closed but you feel that your care need is urgent for that day please contact the surgery in the usual way. Outside of surgery hours please use the 111 service which is staffed by clinicians who can help you and direct you to appropriate care.

We are sorry that at present we have been unable to provide the level of service you have become used to but we hope that you understand the factors that have been outside of our control. As ever we thank you for your care, understanding and support for our team.
