Junior doctor strike

Over the next 4 days junior doctors in England will be taking strike action to reverse the steep decline in their pay since 2008/09. A number of doctors working within the Practice, whilst experienced clinicians, are classified as junior doctors. We absolutely support the right of colleagues to take this action.

This will have an impact on the ability of the NHS as a whole to provide care over the next few days and we expect it to have an impact on us as a Practice. We ask that over the next week you only contact us if you feel your need really does require a clinician, please support our reception team if you do contact us as they will be doing their best to ensure we have capacity to deal with those with the greatest need and they may ask you to wait if you can.

Unfortunately Covid 19 has not gone away, we currently have 2 of our clinicians with this condition. Whilst rules have changed recently regarding healthcare staff and Covid 19 we do not feel it is safe or appropriate to expose any of our patients to this condition by expecting them to attend work or fair to our colleagues who are unwell. This will also have an impact on our capacity this week, as ever we thank you in advance for your understanding and support.
