Recycling Project Staff Training 24th April 2025 Patient Feedback for the CQC Treatment Room service
New Recycling Initiative at Caythorpe & Ancaster Medical Practice
We’re pleased to introduce a new recycling scheme across both of our practice sites, supporting a more sustainable approach to healthcare. Patients can now return used MDI inhalers and empty tablet blister packs to be recycled safely and responsibly.
Dedicated recycling boxes have been placed in the reception areas at both Caythorpe and Ancaster surgeries. You are welcome to drop these items off the next time you visit, or whenever is convenient.
Why is this important?
Inhalers often contain residual gases that are harmful to the environment if disposed of in household waste. Proper recycling helps reduce the environmental impact of these essential medications.
Blister packs are made from mixed materials, which are not typically recyclable via domestic waste collections. By collecting them centrally, we can ensure they are sent to specialist recycling services.
This trial is part of our ongoing commitment to improving environmental responsibility within the practice and contributing to wider NHS sustainability goals. We hope it will make it easier for patients to do their part too.
Thank you for your support — small changes like these can make a big difference.
If you have any questions about the scheme, please speak to a member of our reception team.
